Concern about Chinese supplement herbs
Aug 27, 2011

I am taking as a supplement both 'Yun Zhiwan' and 'Xiao Yao' Chinese medicine. Can you please tell if there is any known interaction of these herbs with the regular treatment for HIV patients.

Response from Dr. Fawcett

Any herbal remedies can interact with your prescribed medications and should be reviewed with your doctor. Here is a link to a page at TheBody about Chinese herbalism and a link to the National Institutes of Health "National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine's" page listing specific herbs.
