| Atripla - Facial Wasting Jan 11, 2009 I have an undetectable viral load and CD4 count of 487. Only been on Atripla for about 3 months after having switched from Kaletra and Travada because of side effects. It appears that I am having trouble maintaing my body weight. Bags under my eyes are bad and I'm worried about facial wasting even though I've been taking meds for about a year now. Should I start working out? Eating fatty foods? I already have a slender build and worry about my appearance and looking sick all the time. What can I do to appear more healthy... I'm stopping almost all smoking and drinking to help. |

Response from Dr. Horwath
There are some cosmetic treatments for facial wasting. You should consult your HIV doctor; maybe he or she can recommend someone in your area who is familiar with this treatment. | ||||||||||
