Feeling positive
Jan 11, 2009

I have never felt negative. Even after finding out that I was positive 2 months ago. I still feel the same. My viral load was 47000 and my cd4 count was 240. I have always been healthy and energetic. I started atripla on Oct 6th. maybe postitive for 2 years. I still feel great and no changes. My next appointment is on the 19th of november. I'm fit, healthy and continuing the same lifestyle I have now. I have no drug resistance. I would rather not have HIV, but, can I still live the same lifestyle I do now? I work at 3am, only get 6 hours of sleep, drink 2 vodka drinks a night and have some occasional stress with a teenager living at home. NOthing has changed. Should it?

Response from Dr. Horwath

Many people with HIV infection live very healthy and positive lives, as you do and should continue to do. I would recommend cutting back on the vodka and getting more sleep, but I wish you continued health and happiness!
