HIV testing and medication Oct 10, 2008 I had unprotected sex in the beginning of November 2007. Since that time I have had one blood test in January, which was a horrific experience that has made me hesitant to test again. Then I had two rapid oral tests, one at the end of March and one mid May. All tests came back negative. My question is, I take Valtrex occasionally for herpes and wanted to know if the drug would have affected my test results? Should I be worried? |

 You have had 3 negative HIV tests, all negative. You should be confident in the results. Valtrex should not affect the test results. | |||||||||
