| Is it possible Aug 28, 2008 Dr. Horwath, I am three months pregnant, and just had an HIV test. It came back negative, but I had never nbeen tested prior to this. My husband and I have been together for three and a half years, so I have not had sex with anyone else (nor has he)in AT LEAST that time frame. Should I totally trust the negative result? Someone very close to me died from this disease, so I know how severe it is. Should I feel reassured from this negative result that I am not sick? |

Response from Dr. Horwath
The HIV test is extremely sensitive, accurate and reliable. Yes, you should feel reassured from this negative result. | ||||||||||
