| Telling Children!! Jan 28, 2008 I have recently told both my daughters that I am HIV+. I guess they took it OK but don't know for sure. I went thru a whole bunch of problems last year divorce, drugs, money, sucide(thinkng about it). Thought I was thru with it and ready to get re started then found this out. They would like a resource for them from other children etc. Is there any thing out there?? |

Response from Dr. Horwath
There is a website that provides guidance on this issue; it's about talking to kids. (see below) http://www.talkingwithkids.org/aids.html Some other references that might help: Boland MG. Caring for the child and family with HIV disease. Pediatr Clin North Am. 2000 Feb;47(1):189-202. Disclosure of illness status to children and adolescents with HIV infection. American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Pediatrics AIDS. Pediatrics. 1999 Jan;103(1):164-6. | ||||||||||
