 There are several widely used drugs for bipolar, including lithium and divalproate. A numer of other newer drugs are used, but have not been as well studied. In recent years, the atypical antipschotics have been approved for use in the treatment of manic episodes. These medications include risperidone (Risperdal), olanzapine (Zyprexa), quetiapine (Seroquel), ziprasidone (Geodon) and aripiprazole (Abilify). More recently, Seroquel was approved for treatment of bipolar depression. | ||||||||
