Response from Dr. Horwath
People with HIV infection should know that if they become severely ill and unable to make medical or financial decisions for themselves, they have options such as setting up a proxy to make medical decisions or a durable power of attorney to assign another person the power to make certain important medical, legal and finacial decisions for you. Upon admission to a hospital, the staff wil usually explain the health care proxy and provide documents to allow you to assign one. | |||||||||
