Depression is a common problem in people with AIDS. However, there is effective treatment available. If her current treatment is not effective or is causing severe side effects, then she should speak to her doctor or seek consultation from a psecialist in depression to adjust the treatment.
You asked how long she can survive. She has had a good response to treatment, and she should be able to live for many years. However, we don't have the power to predict a person's lifespan. The fact is, with or without AIDS, none of us knows how long we will live.
