Obsessed with HIV/AIDSMay 3, 2005 I had a roomate last March who both her and her young 7 year old son tested positive. I tested negative then, and moved out because she was bringing different men to sleep with her about 4 times a week and i did not approve of this. Since then, i have become obsessed with this disease, and worry obsessivly everyday on if she could have intentionally infected me. We have never had a sexual relationship, and i had my own bathroom. - i have been scared to go for another test since then, and have been in a monogomous relationship for 5 years. How can i overcome my fear of this disease, and those it has affected? It is destroying my life, and i get more paranoid daily |

![]() | Response from Dr. HorwathYou cannot be infected with HIV by living with a roommate who is HIV positve. Casual contact such as this does not transmit the virus. | ||||||||
