Should I seek professional counseling
Nov 17, 2004
Dear Doctor Horwarth,
I am currently obsessed with the idea that I have contracted hiv through some rare form of transmission. Can you please tell me if I should have any concern or if I am just anxiety ridden. I don't trust many people up to and including the counselor that gave me my last hiv blood test. I am concerned that the needle used was not new. What if it had been recapped? How do I know? Also concerned that I got infected through an open deep blisters I had on my fingers and those cuts were exposed to outside sources. Please help me ease my mind. Thanks so much for you time.

You are suffering from anxiety. Get some professional counseling or psychotherapy.
