STRESS FUL SYMPTOMS!
Nov 3, 2003

Dear Doctor Horwath,

Are night sweats, a mouth ulcer, and fatigue, symptoms of stress? What other symptoms could some one who is very stressed out and worried get besides these?

Response from Dr. Horwath

Fatigue may be a symptom of stress. Oral Herpes, Type I, sometimes recurs at times of great physical or emotional stress.

However, if you have HIV infection and are having new onset night sweats, oral ulcers, and fatigue, you really need a medical work-up. Symtoms like these are often signs of an opportunistic infection or other medical complications seen in persons with AIDS.
