Am I conclusively Negative?
Jan 11, 2009
Hello Doctor;
I am a 25 years old Male from Sydney, Australia. Following a possible exposure in August I had 5 HIV antibody tests during last 3 months which all came back Negative. The tests which I had are:
Week 3(22 days) MEIA test for HIV 1&2 and P24 antgen: NEGATIVE
Week 8(60 days) MEIA test for HIV 1&2 and P24 antigen: NEGATIVE
Week 11(76 days) ELISA test for HIV 1&2 and P24 antigen: NEGATIVE
Week 12(84 days) MEIA test for HIV 1&2 and P24 antigen: NEGATIVE
Week 13(91 days) ELISA test for HIV 1&2 and P24 antigen: NEGATIVE
The Nurse at my last test which was at week 13(91 days) said that I am "Conclusively Negative". But Doctor as you are expert in this field I am cofirming it with you.
My Questions are:
1. After 5 Negative tests in 3 months am I conclusively Negative?
2. Do I need to re-test later?
3. Can stress and Anxiety in any way affects the HIV test or delays the production of antibodies?
Your answer will be much appreciated.
Thanks
