making out
Apr 5, 2007
So heres the story, exacly a week ago, i had unprotected sex with this girl right...and im freaking out because i keep thinking the worst (contracting HIV). im getting tested in about a week, and i was just wondering if i were to continue making out with my current girlfriend, if she would be at risk? and if i were to get tested negative next week, would she still be at risk?, cuz ive read that a good amount of time to wait is between 4-6 months? can HIV be spread through making out? do i even have anything to worry about for now? keep in mind i only slept with that one girl once, and is the only girl i slept with without a condom...she even told me she didnt have HIV or any other STD for that matter..but how trustworthy can anyone really be? so...is this anxiety normal? and what should i continue doing to benefit my mental/physical health?

Response from Dr. Horwath

No, you cannot spread HIV by making out (kissing and touching). But you can contract HIV by having sex without a condom, so you need to put a stop to that behavior.
