| Missed 1 Sustiva dose Aug 15, 2001 I was on combivir/viramune for about 4 months then was switched to combivir/sustiva about 4 months ago. I take the combivir before in the morning and before dinner and the sustiva at bedtime. Last nite I forgot the sustiva (first time this happened). I remembered when I woke up this morn at 6 am and took it then, so thats about 8 hours late. Is this a cause for worry? Thanks. |

Response from Dr. Boyle
It's not something you want to do a lot, but due to the very forgiving pharmacokinetics of Sustiva/Stocrin (efavirenz), which has a half-life of almost 50 hours, it should not be a problem. If on occasion you forget to take the nightime dose of Sustiva/Stocrin, take it as soon as you wake up in the morning and then continue on your regular dosing schedule. | |||||||||
