Purbac
Mar 4, 2018

Good day doctor. I am emailing from South Africa. I have been prescribed purbac antibiotics for a month due to a head infection (folluculitis). I usually eat just one mean a day in the evening... But I was told to take 2 tabs in the morning and 2 in the evening after meals. Is it ok to take these tabs in the morning on an empty stomach?

Response from Dr. Young

Hello and thanks for posting from South Africa.

Purbac (trimethoprim/sulfa also known as Bactrim or Septrim) can be taken with, or without food.

Be well, BY
