Dear Dr Young. I am Ben from HK,cd 4 240 vl undetectable , just want to know is it safe to do repair of perforated eardrum with general anesthesia,will do the surgery next month.thanks a lot

Hello and thanks for posting.

Yes, it should be safe. People living with HIV who, like you are on treatment and have undetectable viral loads generally have surgical outcomes like the general population. Just be sure to let your doctors know about all the medications and supplements (if you are) taking.
