Hiv and cd4=335 and VL = 7550 taking bacrim only not ready for treatment scared of its side effects and I m not sick im still healthy

Response from Dr. Young

Hello and thanks for posting.

Though not globally adopted yet, many nations and now the World Health Organization recommend antiretroviral HIV treatment for all persons living with HIV, independent of CD4 count, viral load or clinical status.

If you're not ready for treatment, that's ok, but now is the time to learn that HIV treatments are very well tolerated with few serious side effects. HIV treatment works, prevents death, illness and transmission of the virus to others.

I'd encourage you to peruse the blogs on TheBody to see how others have fared on treatment.

Hope that helps, BY
