numbness
Jun 13, 2015

i started feeling numbness and tingling on my left hand for more than one week. Is this because im HIV infection?

Response from Dr. Young

Hello and thanks for posting.

Nerve injury (usually peripheral neuropathy) can be a complication of advanced HIV disease or AIDS, but is rarely found only on one side of the body. For this reason, I'd doubt that your symptoms are HIV, or HIV medication related.

Nonetheless, it would be good to discuss your symptoms with your care provider.

Hope that helps, BY
