Dear Doctor Young. I tested positive for exposure to TB way back in 1984 when I returned Stateside from serving in South Korea with the Air Force. They put me on INH for 6 months to a year. I tested HIV Poz in 2013 after being exposed 7 months prior. On Stribild UD. 525 CD4. 30%. Had a Chest X-Ray in 2013. No problems. But since I was exposed to TB before. Is Treatment for TB again advisable? Thank You again for your great advice. Fort Lauderdale.
Response from Dr. Young
Hello and thanks for posting from lovely South Florida.
You should be done with the INH preventive therapy- once is adequate. Make sure to let your care providers know about your previous TB history.
Be well, BY
