Hair Dyes effecting Immune System through the decades with HIV
Feb 6, 2015
I'm hoping that there will be an answer, definitive, to this question so I can forward to a friend who is at age 65 dyeing his beard weekly with hair color, ( He's not HIV positive but his health in my opinion is at risk., I am positive . I have read many reports through the decades mostly from Europe, that hair dye evokes a stressful undo response on the immune system, First notice in the 1980's with gay men It can skew a lymphocyte lab result, that were HIV positive when their were no viral load tests available back then for diagnostics, Basically the T cells ran and hid so to speak after these men underwent extensive Dew's. Gay men in the hair salon business HIV+ had consistent low T-cells, with no proper meds Is there facts in these statements beyond simple allergic reactions?

Hello and thanks for posting.
After searching the National Library of Medicine, , I can find no reference to immunosuppressive effects of hair dyes.
