How to Raise CD4 Count
Jul 29, 2014
To Doctor Young:
Let's say with medication that one has managed to have ones viral load become "undetected" yet there CD4 count remains low (below 350). Are there any medications/therapies that focus on rebuilding the body and it's immune system/cell counts?
As an individual are there certain life choices we can make that help with this (Such as a high protein diet or maybe an exercise routine with a lot of compound movements and sprints to naturally spike HGH and Anabolic levels in the body?
Thank you for your time :)
Response from Dr. Young
Hello and thanks for posting.
The single most important (and only proven) way to increase CD4 count is to be taking (and be adherent to) combination medications for HIV.
Despite multiple attempts with a wide range of strategies, nothing else has been proven to reliably and significantly increase CD4 counts.
Having said that, this should not diminish the health benefits of tobacco reduction/cessation, alcohol in moderation, a balanced diet (with adequate vitamin D and calcium intake), regular exercise and attention to one's mental health.
Good luck and good health, BY
