|summer motorcycle trip/high temperatures
Jun 5, 2014
Hi Dr. Young, I am a 60 year old man doing well on Complera. I have been planning a two week motorcycle trip throughout the midwest. Temps can often be over 100. Will my Complera be ok, or would I need to make special preparations with some sort of ice pack? Thanks! I sure hope I don't have to stop motorcycle touring! :)

Hello and thanks for posting.
It's generally better to store your medications in a dry, cool, dark place. Short temperature excursions aren't usually critical.
From the sounds of it, your motorcycle trip might exceed these goals; as such using a cooler with frozen ice packs might be a solution. I'd suggest speaking to your pharmacist about the best options.
But, definitely keep on riding.
