cd4 and cotrimonazole

my cd4 is 400 and still on cotrimonazole it declined from 610 with in six months since am from aresource limited country i was not started arvs but advised to take more fruits. isnt it dangerous as my next cd4 check up is in six months from ok take mult vit tabs every day

Hello and thanks for posting.

Cotrimoxazole (Bactrim) is generally very safe and highly recommended for all people living with HIV whose CD4 counts are less than 200. If your count is 400, there's no indication to be on continuous cotrimoxazole. I'd suggest speaking with your care providers.
