time change
Nov 8, 2013

Hello Dr. I am currently taking the truvanda, prezista and ritonavir regim and i take it at 10a.m. once a day. Last week friday, i forgot to take my medication in the morning and ended up taking it at 5pm. Will this cause any resistance? Am very worried. Thanks in advance for your help.

Response from Dr. Young

Hi and thanks for posting.

In brief, no.

Deep breath here. A single missed dose of medication (when otherwise adherent) doesn't increase the risk of resistance-- therefore, a single late dose won't either.

Be well, BY

Is taking PEP for a longer period necessary after changing regimen?
naive patient- half dose?
