Hello Doctor Young, I wanted to thank you for all your advises, I have another question. I am having trouble to sleep (sometimes) specially when I am stress at work.Is it ok to take a unisom pill with my regimen? (prezista, truvada, norvir) Please advise!

Well I forgot to mention and I think I told you before that my virul load is always undetectable and CD4 750+

Response from Dr. Young

Hello Daylet,

Great to hear back from you.

Unisom contains the medication diphenhydramine (otherwise known as Benadryl, or the "PM" in Tylenol PM or Advil PM). This is a quite effective sleep aid, with no real issues with dependency.

There aren't any significant drug-drug interactions between diphenhydramine and your HIV medications.

Stay well, BY
