|Best Time on the day to take ARVs
Apr 23, 2013
Good day Dr. Benjamin, hope you understand my poor english. I have the concern if is better or worst to take HIV meds on certain hours of the day. I am on tenofovir, etravirine and darunavir, I usually take them at 8:30am and 8:30pm, and as you know both etravirine and darunavir are related to food intake too. That have worked very well for me, I reached undetectable levels after 3 months of taking them, but in the next month I have a work training program at that hour, so I will have to have my meals at 11am and 11pm to take my meds half an hour later. (the other option is having the meals at 5am and 5pm lol) Is the hour change the absorption of meds? I have this concern because those meds are my last options for now so I dont want to have resistance to them. Thanks a lot.

Hello and thanks for posting.
You'll not have any problems in shifting your time of dose from 8:30 to 11, what's much more important is simply not to miss the doses (especially with your history of drug resistance).
Please don't be concerned about your English, I'm happy that you find the forum of value- I hope that you'll stay in touch. BY
