| Long Travel to Europe Mar 31, 2013 Dr Dr Young, I am back to ask you a question regarding how to continue taking my meds if I will be in a business trip to Europe, which is 7 hours in advance from South America. I always take my meds at 7:30 pm: Lamiduvine + Efavirenz + Tenofovir, without any single side effect, but now 7:30 pm in South America would be 2:30 am in Europe a very complicated hour to take the combo. This is going to be a very long trip (a month). My question is: May I start taking my meds earlier before traveling to be able to take them for example 10 pm french time, that is starting taking the meds at 3 pm in South America a week before the trip? Kindest Regards, Gonzalo |

Response from Dr. Young
Hello Gonzalo and thanks for posting again. I'd keep it simple. When you're leaving for Europe, I'd set your clock to European time and take your meds on that new time zone. I wouldn't recommend taking your meds at 3PM (South America time)- unless you tolerate the efavirenz exceptionally well and without any side effects. On your return, put your clock on S. America time on your departure day and take the meds on the new schedule. Hope that helps and buen viaje, BY | |||||||||
