Re: Are my Meds ok? Mar 31, 2013 Dear Doctor, Thank you so much for your reply. I just want to check with you again on this point below to ensure that we are taking the Meds correctly. The 3rd med (Effavirenz), can it be taken before bedtime - which means ANY TIME before bed? I read on this site and i thought that ARV-taking has to follow an exact timing regime. Because the doctor here said bedtime, so my bf takes it before he goes to sleep, not on an exact timing basis (i.e. sometimes 8.00pm, sometimes 9.00pm). thank you very much. we are all grateful to you for your sharing. |

 Hello and good to hear back from you. Efavirenz should be taken before going to be to help minimize the impact of side effects. Like other medications, the timing need not be exact, only within a few hours. What's key is to take the medications *every* day with as few misse doses as possible.
