| (Crushing Pills)I think I asked this earlier but I don't see it here Mar 30, 2013 I am getting Gastric bypass surgery on 3/21/13 an I need to know if my meds can be crushed or if they come in chewable or liquid form? Truvda ,Isenress, Norir, Prezista . They are working well and I would like to continue them |

Hello and thanks for posting. HIV medications that are tablets could be crushed- Truvada, Isentress, Norvir and Prezista are all produced this way. Alternatively, several of your medications are available in a liquid or pediatric formulation Either way, it's possible to get your medications in a way compatible with your bypass surgery. What's important to bear in mind is what the maximum size of the particle or tablet that your surgeon wants you to ingest. Once you know that piece of information, you should be able to discuss your options with your pharmacist and HIV provider. I hope that helps, BY | |||||||||
