| PEP med resources Mar 15, 2013 Any resources for an indigent, homeless person trying to get PEP treatment in Tallahassee, FL? What I've tried requires being a patient and an ID to do that and/or lab work before they prescribe anything which takes around 5 days, not including weekends. |

Response from Dr. Young
Hello, Have you tried the local emergency department? The only testing that's required (formally speaking) is a rapid HIV test- it's important to be negative before starting on a PEP regimen- as it might be different that a treatment for established HIV infection. Even if you don't get on PEP, try to get HIV testing done at the local AIDS Service Organization. You could try reaching Big Bend Cares 2201 S. Monroe St. Tallahassee, FL 32301.
