High Dose Medrol Taper - Safe? Jan 25, 2013 Hi, I have been undetectable with the same regimen for almost 10 years. I hope that continues. After a very comprehensive sinus workup (including MRI + 3D CT), I have been asked to do a Medrol taper that will last 28 days. The outcome of this taper (as verified by a follow-up CT) will determine whether a surgical intervention is required. I have outlined the taper below for your review. Thanks for your thoughts and insight. 32mg x 7 days. 32mg = 14 days E.O.D 16mg = 7 days E.O.D Respectfully Yours, HM |

 Hi HM and thanks for posting. While we don't recommend steroids' use for no reason, the use of a Medrol dose pack is entirely reasonable in the setting of severe sinusitis. Hope that helps and good luck, BY | ||||||||
