| Bactrim Dose Confusion Jan 4, 2013 I started treatment last year, and part of the treatment was taking Bactrim because my CD4 count was 12 at the time. I recently switched doctors, and I noticed that the prescription now says to take it daily when my last prescription from my last doctor said to take it Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Is it a problem that I have only been taking it 3 times per week instead of daily? Should I be taking it daily? It's b The Bactrim DS tablet that I'm taking. |

Response from Dr. Young
Hello and thanks for posting. Both prescriptions are right. Trimethoprim/sulfa (Bactrim, Septra) can be taken as either the double strength (DS) three times weekly or single strength once daily. Be well, BY | |||||||||
