Single Swollen Lymph
Dec 29, 2012

Hi! First of all, my english is quite bad (i talk spanish), so excuse me if i write bad. I have a 0.8 centimeter, hard marble in my right armpit. It doesn't hurt and I can move it eassily when I press on it.

I explored my body and I have no more marbles, and I had some sore throat, with snots and sneezes. Should I worry? really thank you!

Response from Dr. Young

Hello and thank you for posting your question.

Enlarged lymph nodes ("glands") are usually indicators of a local inflammatory process- typically an infection, but persistently enlarged (or growing) nodes may be suspicious for other problems, including cancer.

A node that is less than 1 cm in size and freely mobile isn't at first glance, worrisome.

If the node persists for more than a few weeks, be sure to let your doctor know.

Be well, BY

You made my day/month/year 2013 brighter....
