Tenvir-em Vs. Truvada Nov 20, 2012 Hi doc, Its been about 6 month since I started my Regimen with Truvada + Efavirenz, so far, my CD4 897 / 20% and VL <25. I live in Venezuela where access for HIV medicines are Free, but this month I got Tenvir-em in replacement for Truvada, I know Tenvir-em is a generic of Truvada, but should I expect the same effect and benefits? or there is something I should worry about.? thanks in advance for your answer |

 Hello and thanks for posting from Venezuela, Seems like you're having an excellent response to your treatment. Since the two brands of medication (Truvada and Tenvir-EM) contain the same active ingredients (tenofovir and emtricitabine), there shouldn't be any difference in effectiveness or side effects. Nonetheless, it's always worth reporting to your doctor (and if you feel so, with our readers here at TheBody) if you have any symptoms after the switch. Abrazos, BY | ||||||||
