| Macrocytic Anemia Nov 3, 2012 Dear Doctors, I just got my blood test report and it indicates that there is a mildly macrocytic but the clinic doctor asked not to worry. I would like to hear your comments on this. Test results: Female, Age 29 Haemoglobin: 12.9 g/dL Total Red Cell Count: 4.28 x 10^12 /L Haematocrit: 42 % MCV: 98 fL MCH: 30 pg MCHC: 31 g/dL E.S.R.: 22 mm/hr |

Hi and thanks for posting. You have nothing here to worry about. First, you're not anemic (low red blood cells, RBCs). Your RBC indices (hemoglobin and hematrocrit) are within the normal range. Lastly, your MCV (red cell volume) abnormal- your cells are not macrocytic. BY | |||||||||
