Exposed seronegatives

Sep 3, 2012

high-risk individuals harbor extremely low levels of infectious HIV in blood and/or tissues. But they are HIV-negative in tests??

If they are sero negative, how can they harbor the HIV-virus. Is it possible that these people can transmit the desase to others?

Please help, worried sick!

Response from Dr. Young

Hello and thanks for posting.

These fortunate individuals appear to be naturally resistant to HIV infection-- as such, they neither have, nor can transmit HIV.
