| PEP Treatment Aug 21, 2012 Hi Doctor, Last year September I took PEP treatment for 30 days. Doctor said I should take one pill a day. I see a lot of people were given treatment for 2 pils a day. I was not completely honest with PEP i sometimes took the pils late how effective is the PEP pill and what are the chances that it did not work |

Hello and thanks for posting. Like all medications, PEP is most effective if taken with good adherence (I think that's what you're calling honesty). I can't comment on whether you should have been taking medications once or twice daily, since there are medications that could have been prescribed with either dosing characteristic. In the end, the only way to know if PEP worked (or didn't) is to get HIV testing. We recommend getting testing 3 months after the exposure. BY | |||||||||
