i contacted this in 2010.my doctors said i would never walk or talk again but i do.they said i would have this the rest of my life is this true

It's really good to hear about your recovery- and proving your doctors wrong.
Cryptococcal meningitis is a very serious, and without treatment, frequently fatal AIDS-related complication. It's most common in people with very low CD4 counts (usually well less than 100) who have not started ART treatment.
With good anti-fungal treatment, survival is markedly improved and recovery possible. Those who recover from the initial event need to stay on preventative treatment (or secondary prophylaxis) until their CD4 counts are greater than 200 for more than 6 months. After that, the medication (usually fluconazole) can be stopped.
