Response from Dr. Young
Hello and thanks for posting. I'm not sure about three types of patients, but a regimen of two NRTIs (abacavir and lamivudine) and a ritonavir-boosted protease inhibitor (lopinavir, aka, Kaletra) could be used for first-line patients or for patients with prior treatment experience (either for switching treatment or drug resistance). If your not sure why your HIV provider has selected this regimen, it's worth a conversation. BY | |||||||||
