Atripla/Resveratrol pill question
Jun 25, 2012
I am doing very well on Atripla. I have been taking it since 2008. I have been fascinated by an article I read on the health benefits of taking Resveratrol as a supplement. I in no way want to harm the Atripla regimen I am on now, yet am interested if I could take the Resveratrol as a new daily supp? Please advise.

Hello and thanks for posting.
Resveratol has been touted to have effects on cancer and heart disease protection. It's not fully studied, so there's much more safety and drug interaction data needed (never mind effectiveness data) for me to offer strong advice about how the product might interact with the medications in Atripla.
Indeed, there are some concerns about interactions, but at least one theoretical concern about increased risk of cancer.
Like many unlicensed products, I don't recommend their use unless there is overwhelming data confirming effectiveness and safety.
