| Roaccutane and HIV Apr 21, 2012 I read that in clinical studies, Roaccutane was found to suppress the warts viruses etc. Can Roaccutane also suppress the HIV virus? |

Response from Dr. Young
Thanks for posting. Isoretinoic acid has been withdrawn from the US market because of safety concerns. The data on this medication and papilloma virus (HPV) is at best, circumstantial, so I'd not conclude that it is proven to suppress HPV. It's not known how the medication worked, so it's difficult to forecast effectiveness for HIV. BY | |||||||||
