Prezista 600mg twice a day or 800mg once a dayApr 8, 2012 I was on Combivir+Sustiva 1998-2010, and switched to Truvada+Reyataz+Norvir for past 2 years due to sustiva' terrible nightmares. March's blood work show CD4=640 with undetectable VL. I need to switch to Prezista next month as Reyataz is not available where I currently live. Given my therapy history, would you suggest 600mg twice daily or 800mg once a day? I never had any resistance to any medication. Only 300mg tablets are available where I'm. Thank you. |

![]() | Response from Dr. YoungHello and thanks for posting. Since you don't have a history of drug resistant HIV, you can take your darunavir (Prezista) once daily- 800 mg with 100 mg ritonavir (Norvir). Prior to the availability of a 400 mg tablet, we would use 3-300 mg tablets to concoct a 900 mg/100 mg once daily without any significant issues. I hope that helps, BY | ||||||||
