Are you sure you didn't mean that HIV has proven effective for gold compounding? Do you suppose that someday someone will get the brilliant idea that diamonds have as good of anti-std properties when they are ingested as they do when they are worn? Gold is an inert element. End of story.

I certainly didn't say that gold is effective. From the earlier post:
"I think that it's premature to conclude that the gold compounds can be used to treat HIV in people. There are many tests that such interesting candidate compounds need to pass, including testing in people for safety and effectiveness, before drawing this conclusion."
