Response from Dr. Young
Hello Tim and thanks for posting from Thailand. As the husband of professional dog trainer, Louisa Morrissey, I'm quick to say that dogs offer much companionship, especially to those with medical conditions. In general, there are no specific health risks from dogs to those living with HIV, especially if you have a healthy immune system (as you do). The US CDC offers this overview brochure on Preventing Infections from Pets. Being mindful of these few aspects can keep you and your poodles healthy. Hope that helps, BY | |||||||||
