|Please answer : Is 12 weeks MEIA test result conclusive?
Sep 29, 2011
Few months ago, an unknown girl give me a protected blowjob but before putting the condom on, she put it in her mouth. Although I had no symptoms but I took blood tests after 6 weeks and after 12 weeks and both were negative. But the test were not ELISA and it was written that the test were performed by MEIA. I don't know about MEIA and its results reliability. Can I take MEIA 12 weeks result as conclusive? Should I take another test after 6 months?
Thanks in adance for reply.

Thanks for your question.
MEIA stands for Microplate Enzymatic Immunoassay. This is a synonym for ELISA, meaning it is another word for the same test. A negative at 12 weeks after a very very low risk situation is very reassuring. There would be no need for further testing.
