hi i am on atripla for almost one year i read an article stating that scientists have proved that efv and tdf can be taken in half of dose as currently given in atripla...and have same effect and potency...and less side effects..less harmful... can i take it like this is small dose versions are available in market

I'm not entirely sure what article your refer to. In general, HIV medication doses are set by large clinical trials. To this extent for example, Atripla (tenofovir/FTC/efavirenz) only comes in a single fixed-dose tablet. Doses of some medications can be affected by body mass or kidney disfunction.
I suspect that the study that you're mentioning is an experimental analysis from Europe of adjusting the dose of efavirenz based on the blood levels of the medication using therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM). This is not a tool that's widely available in the US, nor generally recommended at this time.
