HIV test Preparation

Jul 24, 2011

Respected Sir, Is there any dietary restriction ( Herbs , Green tea, etc ) that can not be taken before HIV antibody testing ?

Is there any medicines also that can not be taken before HIV antibody testing ?

Is there are any sort of any other type of restrictions that can not be done before HIV antibody testing ?

I will be happy if you also let me know if there are any special preparations that needs to be taken before HIV antibody testing ?

Or is it like that there is no restrictions of any type and that particular person can walk any time at his /her will and get HIV antibody tested ?

Response from Dr. McGowan

Thanks for your question.

There are no special dietary restrictions, need for food or fasting, medication interactions or any other preparations that are needed to have an HIV antibody test. Just walk in and do it!
