|missed prezista/norvir dose
Jul 21, 2011
Hi Drs, I am on Truvada+Prezista/Norvir since 5 months ago and currently (June) vl is undetectable and CD4 288 (after being up to 332 after just 2 months on meds??). However yesterday I took my Truvada dose just after waking up, but forgot to take Prezista/norvir after breakfast. I have been 100% adherent since i started, and this makes me feel really bad because my CD4 are not good enough to make a party :( I don't think this single missed dose could be a great deal, don't you believe so? Anyway, i feel a bit depressed about this, and what really worries me is that if it happened once it could happen again, recently my memory has not been so good (excessive stress at work where i cannot claim my status and still am the one with highest work cargo). How many doses are to worry about?

Hello and thanks for your post.
Adherence is a very important aspect to the success of treatment. We typically strive to achieve 95% adherence. If you've only missed one dose in 5 months (or 1 in ~150), your adherence level is 99.3%.
You're doing great with your adherence-- keep it up and your regimen should continue to work for many, many years.
Be well (and don't beat one self up over 99% adherence), BY
