Antacids
May 11, 2011

I am currently taking Norvir, Lexiva, Viread and Epzicom and I would like to know which antacid is safe for me to take while on these medications? Thank you.

Response from Dr. Young

Hello and thanks for your post.

Antacids can interact with certain HIV medications, particularly atazanavir (Reyataz).

For you, the good news is that there aren't any significant interactions between your HIV medications and with any antacids.

Be well, BY
